Foundry Tooling
Innovations designed to make an impact.
Starting as a pattern shop, Griffin Industries has almost 40 years of experience in providing our customers with exceptional foundry tooling. In addition, our design engineers provide world-class prototype and production foundry tooling, while maintaining strong relationships with our foundry customers. We have a shared trust that has been built over many years of total collaboration, working side by side in the heat of the foundry. Finally, customers love our prove-out process which thoroughly tests every mold for fit, form and function.

Griffin Industries specializes in highly-complex production foundry tooling for the most demanding green sand molding applications. Our production process utilizes a staged approach. This approach gives our team the ability to work simultaneously on the same project- yielding reduced process time and improving collaboration. Our onsite air set sand machine confirms fit, form and function prior to shipping. Extensive experience with: Hunter 10 &20, Sinto, DISA w/ core setters, Osborn, George Fisher, Inliner, BMM, and Herman
Green Sand
GREEN SAND

Griffin Industries has extensive experience in air set, sand tooling. With this we are able to minimize tooling costs when used for low volume production. This process can mimic production green sanding, lost foam casting, etc. Our vast experience has allowed us to mimic various casting processes to maximize efficiency for the right candidate.
Air Set
AIR SET

At Griffin Industries, we excel in highly complex core packages that push boundaries and require intense problem solving skills. Our heavily cored designs involve critical calculations for core wash allowance, venting, core clearance, and paste joints. Our onsite U180 shell core machine and air set core making capabilities further enhance our abilities to offer foundry support.
Coreboxes
COREBOXES

We are able to produce even the most complex geometry. We do this using extensive slides, loose pieces, and pickle cores. Investment Casts yields superior surface finish and improved casting tolerance, which can reduce the need for additional machining operations.

INVESTMENT CAST

Griffin Industries was an early adapter to the additive manufacturing market, starting in 2002. We have learned over time that this market continues to evolve with new technology being developed each year. This depth of knowledge gives us the ability to integrate the latest printing technologies with the foundry tooling processes. We take a hybrid approach using the old school pattern making techniques and integrating 3D printing technology when appropriate.
3D Printed Sand
3D PRINTED SAND

Our foundry resources expand into other services that customers see as a valuable asset to Griffin Industries. These include: reverse engineering, 3D laser scanning, core making, solidification, tooling storage, tooling maintenance and repair.
