We are currently hiring for an assistant to work in our Pattern Shop and learn from our experienced craftsmen.
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Cut and shape wood, aluminum, plastic and steel parts using drills, taps and dies, drill press, lathe, planer, and other equipment and needed.
Trim, smooth and shape surfaces using hand tools.
Prepare materials required to manufacture tooling.
Paint patterns using shellac, lacquer or other material.
Adhere to all safety rules and guidelines.
Prior experience in a wood or metal shop preferred
Able to read/write English and shop math equivalent to high school or GED diploma
Able to stand, walk, pull and bend to the floor
Able to lift up to 50 pounds and maneuver sheets of plywood, wood and tooling board
Willing to work in a shop environment exposed to dust and occasional high noise levels from machines
Able to take constructive criticism and learn from mistakes
Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally.
Prolonged sitting, standing, bending, and lifting required.
Ability to move arms, hands and fingers with full range of motion.
